Regional Courts In Summer

While summer officially starts in December, it feels like it has arrived early this year. Some regional courthouses in Queensland (such as the Maryborough Magistrates Court) only have limited inside seating for parties to wait for their matter to be called. Sometimes the court is closed meaning non parties are prohibited from being inside the courtroom until their matter is heard. This can sometimes mean parties and support people are left waiting around the outside of the precinct of the court room or building.

Waiting outside court can often feel hotter than it is if parties are wearing formal court attire. With warmer than average conditions predicted for this year by BOM, parties attending a regional court during the QLD summer should always ensure they bring adequate water as matters can often take a number of hours to be reached on busy duty list or call over days.

We travel to and assist parties in a number of Courts across Queensland. This includes Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Gympie, Childers, Bundaberg, Gayndah, Gladstone, Maroochydore, Brisbane and beyond. If you or someone you know are looking for an experienced Court lawyer to assist no matter how difficult or complex the problem, please call our Maryborough law office on (07) 4191 6470.
